  • Overview
    • Broadxent 8120-R1 with firmware 6.0.25.2.0 is certified by Network Engineering to be use on Covad's network. This release notice is to inform about the limited capabilities of the firmware and the work around to make it possible to run on Covad's Network.
  • Important Notes:
    • Upgrade firmware from 5.0.0.16 to 6.0.25.2.0.
      • Current configuration will be lost when doing the upgrade.
      • All configurations should be written down and will have to be re-created when the upgrade procedure is done.
      • Saving the configuration on the Maintenance tab into a file on 5.0.0.16 is not compatible to run on 6.0.25.2.0 release.
      • Once upgraded to 6.0.25.2.0, the CPE can no longer be downgraded to 5.0.0.16 release.
    • When the firmware crashed, firmware recovery is done using Broadxent's Ethernet protocol. A PC is connected on the Ethernet port of the CPE. An application is run on the PC that automatically looks for the CPE and upgraded the firmware. Upgrade firmware using console is disabled. Console is only used for CLI.
    • When there is no Internet connection from the CPE, the web browser will redirect to the Broadxent Web-based DSL Configuration home page.
    • PPPoA is not supported.
    • Clearing the client PC DHCP lease is not supported.
    • LCP echo requests are sent every 1 minute.
    • Idle timeout for TCP sessions is extended to 30 minutes.
    • This firmware supports SIP ALG.
    • Primary and Secondary subnets:
      • You cannot use a combination of private subnet and public subnet.
      • If the primary subnet is NAT=ON, secondary subnet must use NAT=ON.
      • If the primary subnet is NAT=OFF, secondary subnet must use NAT=OFF.
      • Primary subnet uses DHCP pool, secondary subnet hosts must be statically assigned IP and DNS information. Secondary subnet cannot use DHCP.
    • Remote management can be configured (enable/disable) using the Web GUI or CLI.
    • Remote management port can only be changed on HTTP and not telnet.
    • SNMP has read only. SNMP write is not possible.
